Overview:
The ProGauge Data Management & SCADA System provides a comprehensive and intuitive method for oil field data collection and database management. The system enables operators, engineers, and management to interface and interact directly with data from their daily operations to make quick informed business decisions.
Seamless Integration with ProGauge Software:
The ProGauge database system is compatible with the ProGauge client software, allowing the user to perform advanced, comprehensive production and facilities analysis. Combining the ProGauge Engineering Tools software with data collected by the ProGauge Data Management & SCADA System, any approved employee can access and analyze field information from any internet connection. The centralized database and data interface allows accurate decisions to be made from near real-time data.
Simple Integration of Control Panels:
A web server module is installed within each control panel in which data extraction is desired. This integrated approach allows data to be retrieved from the PLCs and converted to standard XML without the need for additional software. Data will be transferred from the PLCs on intervals suitable to the clients data requirements. Each web server module will be assigned an IP address on the internal network and protected with a username and password to prevent tampering.
Custom Instrument and Equipment Integration:
Field instrumentation and equipment not networked to a control panel may also be integrated into the data management system. ProGauge Technologies has developed custom drivers to communicate directly with data collection devices such as the Rosemount 1420 Wireless Gatway. This allows data from wireless instrumentation placed in the field to be captured by the data management and analysis system. Custom integration is dependent upon the existing instrumentation and equipment and may require additional resources.
Intermediate Communication Portal:
The Intermediate Communication Portal (ICP) is be responsible for performing the data collection and transfer for the facilities. The ICP periodically connects to each data interface (Allen Bradley EWEB module, Rosemount 1420 Wireless Gateway, etc) and loads any new data into its internal database. On timed intervals, the ICP will transfer new data into the main database. If the control room internet connection is lost, the ICP will continue to store data (for several months, or longer) and transfer new records to the main database when the connection is reestablished.
Browser-based Operations and Control System::
Using a browser-based system, operators may enter manually collected data, check alarms, remotely connect to panel screens, check equipment events, view daily reports & data analysis from anywhere on the internal network. If used with a wireless network, this easily customizable format will allow operators to input information directly from the field using standard laptops or cell phones. Daily reports and analysis accessible through operations system may include, but are not limited to, tank battery information, daily oil production reports, and steam schedules.
Remote Access to PanelViews:
PanelView screens may be remotely accessed through the ProGauge client software and within the internal network to allow remote viewing and operations of facilities. Integration with other user interface displays is available. Contact ProGauge for more information.
Private Database Storage:
Several options are available for data storage. A recommended option will provide secure data storage in a private database located both in the ProGauge office and within the client's designated servers. This will allow ProGauge to provide data quality control to ensure the integrity of data before entry into the client's database. Additionally, it will ensure seamless integration with the ProGauge client software and dramatically decrease the required hardware and support necessary for clients. ProGauge performs nightly backups and weekly off-site backups to ensure the safety of our client's data.
Secure Communications:
Communications from the ICP to the main database server will be secured via a 128-bit AES encryption algorithm to ensure the security of client data.
